Surgeons Are Recognized, Appreciated & Celebrated
Recognizing our surgeon’s hard work, letting them know they are appreciated, celebrating special honors, awards and milestones, and simply having the chance to say we are so glad you were born are all joyous occasions at MAVI. We try not to take anything for granted and believe in making the most of every opportunity to celebrate life especially because we understand that life can be tough every day.
Decade Birthdays
While we celebrate every birthday, we do the surgeon's decade birthdays in a really big way (and sometimes a messy with confetti way, but we clean it up so no worries). And our surgeons do make every decade look good!
Everyday is Doctors' Day
While we try to make every day feel like Doctors' Day, we do celebrate the nationally recognized day too. We delivered these cookie cakes to the surgeon's homes so their families could enjoy the sweet treat too!

Dr. Wilson's Hospital Recognition
The Frist Humanitarian Award was created in 1971 to honor outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities. For his mission work in Central America, Centerpoint Medical Center – part of HCA Midwest Health - proudly named Dr. Wilson as its 2018 physician Frist Humanitarian Award recipient. Despite it being a crazy busy day, several of his partners made the time and made a special trip to the event to offer their congratulations and support.

We have a photo of Dr. Lau's first TCAR at MAVI, as well as this one where Dr. Deiparine performed the group's 100th procedure at North Kansas City Hospital. As important as they are to each individual patient, they're all worth celebrating!
In June, we hosted our first MAVI Emeritus Partner event-- we recognized Dr. Waldschmidt (VSA) and Dr. Stark (KCV) as the "founding fathers" of MAVI when the two competing groups came together and rebranded in 2016.
Lots of good memories and stories were shared as well as much admiration for these 2 amazing vascular surgeons.
